If she's really 'full blood" then all she has to do is make a phone call. To the Cree or Aleut people. They have ancestry numbers and the info is readily available. They want their people back. Being an Indian is almost worse then being a slave.

  • Really, if she is an Indian, there will be records a-plenty; just find those records. I will point out that if she is Canadienne, she would not be adopted in Philly, especially by Germans. Perhaps she is mixed up? Let's face it, most 7-year-olds have no idea what they are.

So, have her submit a DNA test. I would recommend www.familytreedna.com, which does the DNA testing for the National Geographic Genotype Program, which in turn traces human migration patterns worldwide.

Gals can be tested only for the mtDNA, not the yDNA. Of course, they can also be tested for the "family finder" autosomal DNA.

i could try Yahoo communities or Face e book, or touch the tribal workplace. Having been a Genealogical researcher 35+ years and artwork with an significant type of Cherokee and Crow households, I even have got here upon in the U. S. that contacting the tribal council places of work is a place to start up. Your greatest difficulty is the adoption (yet you already recognize that). in the U. S. the tribe performs an significant in the adoptions of interior sight American and that they preserve archives of the babies placed in adoption. additionally seldom is a "finished blooded" toddler or perhaps on this is extra that a million/4 places in a non-interior sight American adoption if the tribe can avert it. DNA sorting out could be ineffective because it may in basic terms determine that she is interior sight American yet not the tribe. even with the very undeniable fact that the Aleut's have some truly exciting markers. She could try the Sorenson archives Base internet site for archives on a sparkling kind of DNA sorting out. i got here upon an truly exciting internet site by ability of typing interior sight American tribes of Alberta into the quest. there grew to become right into a itemizing of Tribal places of work and additionally a piece of writing on proving interior sight American connection. If she is at a roadblock she could study that information. As you suggested none family members had difficulty doing the examine for somebody else, so she would be waiting to could be actively in touch in the quest. you are going to be able to additionally touch the interior sight Genealogical Society, family members background center, or interior sight library the quest for interior sight American ancestry has replace into very many times used those days and so with extra people looking into that ancestry, extra societies and libraries are starting to be drawn to that examine. sturdy luck

ask her parents and then do research. You can also research people living in that area near Alberta or her birth place
