2000 malibu won't run?
I've tried doing the passlock relearn procedure( turn key on for 10 min. Turn of for 30 sec... repeat 3x) anyhow, still only cranks. Tried a different ignition cylinder and did the same procedure and still won't fire. I can hear the fuel pump starting up. I was able to get it to run a couple times, but only for a couple seconds. Thus, the reason I was guessing the passlock.

The relearn procedure you are using is not the correct one for this vehicle! the following is the correct one NOTE: it is imperative that the battery is fully charged (12.6 volts or better) 1. Ensure the vehicles battery is fully charged. 2. Use a scan tool to clear any diagnostic trouble codes from the PCM and BCM. 3. Starting with the Ignition Switch in the off position, momentarily crank the engine and leave the key in the run position while observing the security indicator. In 10 minutes the security indicator should turn off. Rotate the key to the off position for five seconds. 4. Repeat step 3 two more times. 5. The fourth time the engine is cranked, the engine should start and the BCM and PCM will have learned the new password. 6. Clear the BCM and PCM trouble codes again.

is gas getting to the engine? maybe the fuel filter. check for spark at the plugs. it could be the coil or module went out if no spark.
