"Let go and let God." What does this mean, and how is it done?

I mean, if I want to actually follow this advice, how do I go about it?

Yield sin and what is bothering us or what is keeping us captive to God as the All Loving Saviour and Healer

then, freely by grace permit God to rule over your life and circumstances as Lord

Letting go means to quit worrying about it. We can do this when we pray and ask God to do for us what we can't do ourselves. Letting go is to trust God. It's so easy (because we have a brain) to pray and then immediately take the problem back with worry. But being christian, we can go to the Father through Jesus and ask Him for the help we need, and trust that He has our best interest at heart.

    Here's the "do":

Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

    And here's the "promise"

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

    ~Philippians 4:6

What has worry ever done for you?

  • Great question - it is after 2 am and I am sleepless thinking about something I gave to God last week. Funny how He works through others. I will go to sleep now that you have reminded me it is His.

That being said, giving it to God is the realization that worry and strife have no benefit. Generally when I truly give an issue to God I feel a great relief come over me. That is the "Let Go". "Let God" is acceptance that he will guide you on the path that will resolve the issue. Being human I sometimes forget I gave it to him, like tonight, but if I keep my eyes and ears open He will remind me He has it.

I would like to add that being able to "Let Go, Let God" takes prayer and faith.

    Good night all.

it means letting go of your own will and letting God take control and being willing to follow his direction. For some, it is giving up an addiction. For me, it was making a conscious choice not to live in fear. I left a bad marriage and all the fear behind of 1) staying in the situation and 2) being afraid to be alone. It meant saying to myself 'I will not live in fear'. Once you take fear out of the equation, one really has no excuse for many things. For me, it landed me in Sweden. God has an amazing sense of humor. You have to watch out for that too.

I take it to mean that when one is driving at a buck ninety down the 407 one should let go and hope Jesus cares enough to make sure they dont kill themselves and others. I suggest if this infinite creator gave you an intellect you should use it on your own and let GOD autpilot the more feeble minded.

I take it to mean that we are to not stress and worry ourselves to death about things which we have no ultimate control over. We need to go to God in times of trouble and ask Him not to just fix everything, but help us to be at peace with what does happen.

When my mother had a heartattack and we were living in the UK, I couldn't just rush home to be with her. I couldn't fix her. I just had to go to God, trusting that He would be with her, and that whatever happened, I trusted Him to take care of my mom and to bring me comfort while we waited.

Search your mind / spirit if you want evidence of eternity.

Endless is God's name; His name is Endless,

and not in the sense that pi is endless.

Hi, nice to meet you; my name is Endless.

    "Just so you know"...your spirit has its endless properties;

some use the word "divine" to mean Endless.

All things have their origin in eternity.

    Search your mind; it's infinite.

Al-Azl or Coitus Interruptus in Islam: Raping Slaves without Making Them Pregnant

Hadith 3.718 : I saw Abu Said and asked him about coitus interrupts. Abu Said said, "We went with Allah's Apostle, in the Ghazwa of Bani Al-Mustaliq and we captured some of the 'Arabs as captives, and the long separation from our wives was pressing us hard and we wanted to practice coitus interruptus. We asked Allah's Apostle (whether it was permissible). He said, "It is better for you not to do so. No soul, (that Allah has) destined to exist, up to the Day of Resurrection, but will definitely come into existence."

Does this mean that the Companions of the Prophet (SAW) didn't commit adultery when they practiced 'azl with the captive girls?.

It is called Nikah Mut'ah, a fixed-time arrangement between a man and a woman that dissolves once the duration expires (Temporary Marriage).

    The Qur'an:

Sura (4:24) - "And those of whom ye seek content (by marrying them), give unto

them their portions as a duty. And there is no sin for you in what ye do by mutual agreement after the duty (hath been done)"

Allah wants to trap innocent muslim girls into prostitution in Quran 4:24
