Is my arm broken (excuse also needed)?
Ok so last night I started hitting my arm using a hammer but primarily my fist. Of course it's swollen and there's an enormous bruise but, for the most part, it still has full range of motion, although naturally it hurts when I move it. It also hurts if I pick up anything that weighs more than about 12 ounces. Anyway I've had broken bones before (by accident) and I know that it cannot be a complete break, but it could be a hairline fracture or something. So my plan is to wear short sleeves and see what my mom says but I'm not announcing to her that I did it so I need an excuse, and something other than "I fell in the shower".
to clarify the excuse is so when my mom sees a giant bruise on my arm I can make her think it was an accident

Do you do things like that often?
You should see a doctor.

Oh crap, first of all, be sure to tell your mom and see a doctor! Broken bones can become quite serious if they're not treated right away. Could you say you were up on your roof enjoying the view or something? I am one of those crazy people who would probably try climbing onto the roof just to see what it was like up there if I suddenly realized I could. Also, I've gotta say that smoking is not a good idea, and climbing onto a roof if it can result in you getting a broken arm is an even worse idea. Getting your broken arm treated is more important than the smoking issue, but I just had to mention that. My dad's been smoking since he was a teenager and he can't quit. If you must smoke, please find a safer place to do it. Broken arms are not a good thing, whether they're smoking-related or not.

you could probably convince your mum but you wont convince a doctor, so be ready to have an even better excuse when your doctor tells you that you hit yourself with a blunt object. Karma's a b**tch right

I realize that lying is a part of our youth culture. BUT, it will come back to haunt you. Spoken from someone who knows.
