I'm using it on an essay, but I'm not clear if I should capitalize it or not.

If you are referring to the season, No.
If you are referring to the verb (springing into action), No.
If you are referring to a person or place called Spring, Yes. (Ex. I am going to the Spring tavern; have you seen Spring because I haven't seen her today?)

I assume you mean the season, so no, it's not capitalized. :)

no, it is a season but not a proper noun. Like north is a direction but not a proper noun
