What tv chef(s) bug you, and why?

Most of them annoy me at least a little bit because they're all so meat-centric, and I'm vegan, but aside from that...

I can't stand Gordon Ramsey just because he's an asshat in general and has an ego bigger than the moon.

Paula Deen's voice & accent grate on my nerves (even moreso than the average southern accent), plus, I swear she must just snack on a stick of butter when she's hungry, she uses so much of it. And she doesn't even say "y'all", really. It's more like "yaw". She's *really* annoying.

Rachel Ray's giggle annoys me. Well, not so much her giggle itself, but the fact that she's constantly laughing at her own dumb little jokes or other things she says, which aren't even funny to begin with.

Buddy (last name?) from Cake Boss annoys me because he uses the wrong words for things sometimes, and I hate the way he pronounces fondant.

I can't think of anything else. Not giving amounts of ingredients doesn't bug me at all because that's how I cook anyway...by taste. And if there was a recipe that sounded especially good to me, then I'd look it up online. Most cooking shows have a site with an episode guide and the recipes used in each episode.

My favorite is Jamie Oliver, and I like Cooks Country on PBS, Cake Boss, Alton Brown, and I just started watching (dvr-ing) Emeril Green on Planet Green which I really like so far. There are a couple of Indian themed shows I really like too, but I can't remember the names of them or the hosts. I *love* Indian food. :)

All of Bobby Flays recipes are available on line, so him not giving exact measurements doesn't bug me. I'd rather read the recipe, anyway. He uses peppers in EVERYthing! Sometimes too much!

I noticed that about Paula Deen dipping into the food and sucking on her finger. If I were her guest on the show (which she has too many of, by the way) I'd have to ask her to wash her hands or use a (clean) spoon to taste. And yes, she uses waaaay too much butter in her recipes.

The Neely's are both way too irritating. It seems like they are just about to drop their cooking utensils and start humping on the floor of the kitchen.

Nadia G. is hot, but her show is more comedy than cooking, and she's "too Italian" for me, as is Giada and especially Emeril. Also, Guy Fieri tends to harp too much on the fact that he's Italian, and so does Rachel Ray, come to think of it. I have nothing against Italians, but how many times must we be reminded of their heritage?

Paula Deen--Now I'm Southern, but she is SO SOUTHERN that it seems like an act. I, too, hate the way she draws our "y'all" and cringe when she says "pee-can".

Emeril Lagasse--He's just irritating. Period. But he also acts like he invented Louisiana Creole cuisine. He didn't, and sometimes doesn't even do it all that well.

Rachel Ray--Too silly. And seldom makes a proper meal for adults.

Sandra Lee--Not even a cook. The kind of woman who would serve mac & cheese from a box and think it's ok as long as there's a pretty pink tablecloth.

Claire Robinson - can't stand the sound of her voice

Melissa D'Arabian - not a real chef and she has horse teeth with big gums.

Paula Deen - Obnoxiously sexual about food - all wrong for an old woman to do that.

Ina Garten - How good is that. How easy is that. How fabulous is that. How gorgeous is that.

The Neelys - get a room, please.

Giada - obviously hasn't eaten in decades.

Guy Fee-etti - just plain stupid looking. Arm bands, sunglasses in the back of his head.

Mario Batali - hairy legs, ugly shoes, short pants.

I could go on and on.....

Melissa D'Arabian - can't stand it when people talk with exaggeration and over animated. Every time I see her judge on Guy's Grocery Games, I grimace.

Speaking of Guy, seems like a nice enough person. It what's with dyeing goaties two different colours?

Paula Deen - Just because she adds so much butter to her food.

To the people who hate Sandra Lee. Her show is called Semi-Homemade Cooking. She is suppose to use stuff that is not from scratch.

Sandra Lee. She's all about selling us on easy shortcuts as if the world is too stupid to cook traditional gourmet dishes. Giada doesn't seem to have much going on "upstairs". I once heard her say, "I like to add pepper because it tastes peppery".
