Programming a 2000 jeep grand cherokees onboard remote garage door opener?

I will still be able to use the regular remote opener on my car that doesn't have one built into my car right? Or will it change codes? I'm just wondering if it's going to change all the codes and I'm going to need to program the whole opener all over again,

No it will not change your codes for your openers. When you follow the directions in your manual you point your opener remote at the front of your car push the car button and your car learns your opener code. There are certain steps to follow to do this so read your manual. If you dont have the manual a local dealer will do this for you for nothing if you bring your door remote and jeep in.you can also find it online.

The Grand Cherokee is a lot nicer but it might not be as reliable as the CR-V. The Honda, however, will have an I-4 and will be just bare bones while the Jeep will be loaded, since it's a Limited. It might also have a V8, which is cool, but I don't know if you worry about mpg that much. If you do, you might want to get the CR-V. Good luck.
