Why won't Muslims become friends with Americans?
I am employed by a company that has many American Muslims employed there also. I work close with them and have developed friendships with a few. One Muslim I've known for sometime told me that he could not come to my home with his family due to the fact that his religion does not allow Muslims to "socialize" with non-Muslims. Ever since, I started studying the religion, the Koran and Sharia law and knowing what I know now, I totally regret ever inviting him to begin with. I have learned the less they know about me, the better. Of 26 Muslim employees since their hire, 2 remain. I strongly suggest Americans read up on their religion and beliefs. I am truly concerned their will be many problems in the not so near future if Americans remain in the dark about these people. Anyone else notice this with Muslim people not being social towards yourself or others?

If they are American Muslims, they are Americans and they become friends with other Americans who are probably also Muslims. Many religions have restrictions on who members can socialise with including some of the stricter Christian sects. You are confusing religion with nationality. The two are not the same thing. Americans are Americans no matter what their religion is.

Stop being ridiculous. I'm an American Muslim, and I have plenty of non-Muslim friends. One Muslim ≠ All Muslims. Don't forget that.

I work with several Muslims and have socialized with a couple of them. One has been to my house. So, no, I have not found what you said to be true at all.

I like your intelligent thinking. Many people who don't study about other religions don't understand their beliefs and their way of thinking. We need to know their origin and what they involve. Many are jealous of our prosperity and believe their religion is the only way and the right way.

Unless you told him you'd force him to drink alcohol and make him eat haram food then really there's no reason for him to reject your invitation.
Maybe he just didnt want to go to your house?
