okay so i get this gift set of the complete national geographic on a dvd as a gift and I try to instal it (grrr several times but my version of clamwin blocks the installation half way thru and creates a quarantined version of the exe file of the installer and when i go to the quarantine folder it will not restore the installer file so i can finish the installation

why? what to do?

uninstal clamwin or temporarily turn it off ?

change some setting?

am i doing the restore wrong?

ideas anyone ?

or could it be i got a dud copy of the natgeo files ?

ideas for solution?

clearing out a relatives closets i found about 20 - 30 old clothes pattern packets up to 30 - 40 years old are they worth anything for retro fashion hobbyists ?

i don't have a gas heater and only have a gas stove top but my gas bill and usage was 2.5 times higher according to the power company for this quarter. I use the stove top for heating water for tea and washing up and the occassional stirfry. How can i lower the usage further? Cut cooking times?

Wash up in cold water? Reduce tea consumption to two cups a day? Not boil drinking water?

Given the higher consumption rate could there be something wrong with the meter?

I'm having a 'discussion" online with a solutrean hypothesis supporter who puts insisting without giving me any reliable links that there are Solutrean artifacts that have been found in america associated with pre columbian burial skeletons with europoid features and uses words like MANY

its to "educate" a teacher who is NOT dealing with adult students with aspergers correctly

they are using out of date age inappropriate techniques that are making the student more angsty and frustrated

i suspect this teacher just doesnt want disabled students in their class and is trying to make them feel more uncomfortable so they can push them out of the course without getting in trouble themselves but perhaps they just misunderstood the student who also has a slight speech disability?

i have a news sony vaio laptop with windows 7 series s

it doesnt do this every time but okay frequently late afternoon if i log on to Facebook but sometimes other areas usinf a wireless modem suddney i getting the spinning blue wheel and everything freezes even the power button

this means i have to UNplug EVERYTHING modem power and wait for the battery to drain before i restart which cant be good for the computer!?!?!?

the spinning blue wheel means some thing is uploading and I dont know if tis from Fb or horrid thoughtgivne this usually happens late afternoon is some one piggybacking onto my modem to uphold freebies or games to their computer

how can i stop this or whatever is causing the crashes from happening again?

I'm not quite sure how it happened but somehow while having problems starting up the dvd drive in my computer for the first tiem I clsoed a window and somehow hide the taskbar

I now havbe nothing winning on screen but a screensaver !

i hit the vaio assist button and tried everything it suggested but

hitting the windows button on the keyboard didnt help

finidng the taskbar icon and dragging it didnt work

leftclicking while i had the pointer on the double header arrow taskbar icon didnt work

i can assess vaio and the assist area and windows open but no taskbar so I cnat use the net to get remote assistance and I cant even log on or off probably

there is a dim possiblity this is virus i was trying to donwlad freeware off a dvd ?

I was working in Inkscape on adocument with 22 objects of 4 types and suddenly as I shifted to working with paths every single object disappeared and I cant get them back?

i hit save went in and out of inkscape trying sleect all and copying to a new document but they'll ALL STILL INVISIBLE! What happened and how can I undo this ?
