Do you think every member of the house and senate should voluntarily take a fifty percent pay cut?

what ever happen to serving the people, the outlandish salaries sure makes it look like the people are serving the politician

I agree there needs to be some changes. Maybe not 50%, then 40% I think the money

could be spent some place else. I don't feel they need their pocket padded more than

they already are.

The more they do for their state and helping others, they could get a bonus. If they don't do their job or help the area they should. Then there would be no bonus for them.

Just do the job they were voted in and stated that they would do. Maybe better people would run for these kinds of jobs

I know the figure sounds big. Remember Senators and Reps. have to live in their districts and live in DC. They must fly back and forth constantly, essentially maintaining two households. They have expenses most people do not have.

Cutting the salary to some token amount would ensure 1) only rich people could afford to run; 2) members would be more susceptible to corruption; 3) the level of representation would decline.

Representation takes place not just in Washington but at meet and greets in Safeway's in Tucson Arizona.

I have to sadly not support a pay cut for Congress, My reason is they have to entertain guests from other countries and sometimes it's at their own expense so they get the money back but at the end of the year other than that I would say to do so would be OK if the congress mas is or woman is rich then yes they should not be paid.

You are suggesting that would change the corruption that bleeds us? We are being bleed so that, eventually, we will accept Federal Control and denial of our rights that our own Constitution says we have! The President; Senators; and all Congresspersons take an oath to protect these rights! The only ones that hate them are Communists and some radical alternate lifestyles.. note that the later insist on we support their bedroom.. I do not want anyone to support mine!!! No make it to easy to bribe them ..nothing worse than a under paid politician... who can change laws ..they will be easily be bribe ..it only human nature that you would want better stuff

I think it is a GRAND idea, and the Dems take a 70% pay cut because they do not listen to those that voted them in office................the American people.
