Try Tea tree oil, it's a natural antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-infection oil. Don't use a shampoo that dries out your scalp. A lot of anti-dandruff shampoos dry the scalp and lock you into using them.

Shampoo is the best way to control dandruff… and it's a lot less messy than vinegar or oil. Splash out on a modern medicated shampoo. There are a bunch of brands, so keep trying until you find one that works for you.

A good diet is most important. Do a organic fruit detox for three days. Avoid citrus fruits, bananas, tinned fruits. Then eat a balanced diet. Meats, sugar, white flour, strong tea or coffee, condiments, pickles, refined and processed foods should all be avoided as much as possible.

Don't use remedies for dandruff for just a week or so... discontinuing treatment before the condition has cleared completely will cause the problem to resurface.

    Good luck!!

I've been around almost as long as Methuzla (sp?) but my family always taught us to use straight Listerine mouthwash a couple times a month. Leave it on a while before rinsing it out or you'll end up smelling like it. Also, today we have been brainwashed to believe that hair should be washed every day; that's a lot of hooey; once a week won't dry your scalp out or your hair and your natural oils will help it to shine. We used to use cotton to apply it. Hope this helps; it's worth a try.

I read this one in Prevention Magazine many years ago and used it for myself, my daughter and also a co-worker used it. Buy some zinc tablets from the drugstore or health food store and start taking one per day. Crush one tablet up and mix it in the shampoo you will use to shampoo your hair, let it set on your scalp for a few minutes to allow it to penetrate the skin. Be careful not to let the suds get into your eyes, it will sting. You can do that or buy Head & Shoulders, but if you prefer to use your own shampoo just put a tablet of zinc in it. It has worked for everybody that I have recommended it for.

I apologize I couldn't email you. I have the same problem. I wanted to ask you if it started after you were put on steroids? That's what caused it for me. I tried everything and nothing works! Not even vinegar or tea tree oil. Please email me if you want. Thanks.
