For the price it is an excellent gun. To me they compare favorably to the old H&R 22s from the 60s and 70s

I have had many of them and never had a bad one

OI have never owned a Heritage, only because I already had the Ruger, but a friend did

I was a little ticked that I paid some much more for the Ruger

Tghe Ruger was better, but not $300 better

I bought one the day after Thanksgiving last year and it is a pretty solid shooter. Not bad for $99.00 brand new. I also went to their website and purchased the .22 Magnum cylinder for $30.00. The quality seems to be close to the Ruger Single Six which is about 4 times what I paid for the Rough Rider.

I know someone that has it and its the only gun he can shoot. He uses sub sonic ammo in it because of neighbors complaining about the noise and he said he loves it.I wouldn't pay more than $140 for it,budsgunshop had a deal you get the rough rider a holster and the .22 magnum cylinder for $109

It depends on which caliber you are referring too. Big bore or small bore? I personally care for only big bores and my sidearm of choice in reference to a revolver aka"wheelgun" is Ruger and Smith&Wesson. Judging from the prices on the manufacturing website, they dont seem to fantastic. I personally dont care for blue finished firearms since they dont last as long as stainless stain. After 20 yrs or so the firearm will need to be reblued to keep it from rusting. Overall if you already own the firearm use it; however, I would not purchase one. Maybe later on, these firearms will become more valuable. Personally I would never sell it and just keep it functional by cleaning it every 6mths.
