Please help me with my 'new' washing machine!?
I just bought a used Maytag Neptune washer. It came from a repairman, not the person who had used it. It works great, and we paid very little for it. I have never had a front loader before and it doesn't seem to hold many clothes. I am going to look up the manual online, but I wonder if anyone out there has one and can tell me how it compares to their previous top-loader (size of load-wise). Thanks!

I have to say I'm not as fond of side-loaders as i am top-loaders (stop all that grinning :) ). You can't put as many clothes in and you also can't put a load of all towels in. They just seem to break down more often than top-loaders. One benefit to the side-loaders is you only need one quarter of the amount of detergent you would use in a top loader, which can save you some cash. But the down-side to that is if you accidentally put in more than that, you risk over-sudsing your clothes.

since you are no longer dealing with the agitator in the center of a top loader, i find it extremely difficult to believe you don't have more room. that's one of its best selling points. you need to order yourself a manual online. i wish i'd found your deal. i got a new one and compared to my neptune top loader, this new front loader is super!!

Should be about the same - they're nice machines. Lucky you got it used.
