How often should you have certain tests done?
Why is it that every time i make an appointment for say a sore throat they have me strip nude and check everything.When i was pregnant in October 2008 but later miscarried anyways what required 14 pelvic examinations within 3 weeks what were they checking for.How much spacing should be between pap smears and how often should you get tested for STD'S? My Gynocologist checked me full range why is this common practice or just her preference too. I only was having normal intercourse nothing to wild .

well, it's mostly about modern health care!.more tests meaning more insurance can be billed. Generally if you are above 45 pap smear is recommended once every year and below that it should be once in 3 years. Other than that if proper clinical practise is done, the doctor should be able to treat regular patients just on their history and may not need any exams. but in us(if you are from there), it's a combination of legal problems and inflation of medical education together with the insurance blessings. Otherwise you may have been going to a teaching hospital, where every one wants to learn how to do a pelvic exam
