It's a person with life experience. It is a person who reads. It is a person who is willing to learn. It is a person who listens, not waits to talk. It is a person who forms their own opinions. It is the person who can take $25 and feed a family of 4 for a week, etc.......

A college degree doesn't mean a person is educated. It is simply a piece of paper that says someone has attended college.

traditionally, an educated person has a broad general range of knowlege and the skill set aka ability to apply that information set so that processing new information is relatively fast and easy.

That used to be the goal of university education. Alas now it is merely vocational-technical training, pretty much 4 years of trade school.

First you learn what the word "education" means.

Education: "the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life".

    Then you decide for yourself.

Since you posted this in the Politics section, I will say that this definition does not describe any of the right wingers on YH.

In my opinion an Educated Person is a person with a degree higher than a bachelors.

Sure people can be smart in other ways, but to be academically educated, you have to have a degree that sets you apart.

Tough question. I would say that an educated person has a piece of paper that says he has spent time educating him/herself. Wisdom on the other hand cannot be learned in a book.
