Why does any human keep on doing "any" of the 'Ten Commandments' when they say there is no God-?
I just asked this question to see if any of you even thought about a 'perfect'- "Right" or "Wrong" 'way of thinking', when it pertains to any "LAWS", Not to turn you into a judge, Judge yourselves...Actions speak louder than words...Whether or not you agree with anything written here. All men have fallen(in there hearts), And all human`s have trouble forgiving one another for there actions. But only God(Spirit) can total forgive those actions. Even God has to abide by his own Laws...That`s 'why' he is who he say`s he is...Dan, Good answer. A few here seem to be lost(have an unhealthy way of thinking) in there- 'way of thinking'...Yes, you can obey any law and still believe that`s there`s no God, "been there- done that"...'Knowing' is 'believing'...with ALL laws...Like it or Not...

Even if you do not believe in God, many of the ten commandments are part of the statutory laws that societies enforce to maintain order. People keep these commandments simply to avoid legal consequences. Others may keep some commandments because it is 'good karma'. God wants us to keep His commandments out of obedience to him.

Which commandment is it that you think people are doing? I promise you that most people have broken most of the commandments. Most Christians assert that there is a god and still they break the commandments. What are you trying to get at. The commandments mean nothing at all to modern Christians. And while we are on the topic, which list of the commandments are you referring to, There are several.
Why do Christians not take their own savation seriously? The way they are supposed to show love to god is by following the commandments and yet none do. Can you figure it out? I can't.

First you have the Brainwashing you received from your Parents as you were growing up. Then you have the Brainwashing continually being done to us by our own culture. Then you have all those damn laws currently on the books. It takes years to undo all that programming. Then there is still the ever present threat of jail if you break some of them.

Im a christian and even I have broken a few commandments myself but there is thank GOD forgiveness.

Many of the Ten Commandments are basic rules which an human being should follow anyway.
Eg: Do not kill.
