What is the best way to buy silver?
I want to start buying silver but need to buy small amounts, or coins at a reasonable mark up

Ebay can be risky to buy from. You'll want to buy either junk 90% coins (old half dollars, quarters, and dimes, minted up until 1964) or silver bullion. If you buy some fancy collector coin, then sure the markup is high. But if you stick to silver bullion coins, like Silver American Eagles, you will usually only pay about 5% markup for a shiny brand new coin.
Check out CoinInferno.com for price comparisons from dealers. It will show the current price and markup from each dealer, as well as the coins current "melt value" (intrinsic silver content's value).

The most convenient way is to order from an online retailer that ships immediately, accepts a wide range of payment options, and has the lowest mark-up prices.

Paul, The best, easiest, simplest, and most economical way to own & trade silver is to start a discount brokerage account and buy the ETF stock ticker: "SLV". That is an extremely common investment for people who want to own silver. SLV simply tracks the price of silver. Good luck.
