Question on wild hog hunting...?
I was watching Hogs Gone Wild on Discovery Channel and they were hunting wild hogs with dogs. I have never been pig hunting so I don't know much about it.
I see that once the dogs had the hog distracted, a person moved in and tied the hogs legs together.
My question is what to the hunters do with the pig after that? I mean if I were planning on eating it, I'd just plug it with a 45 and save the problems of transporting a live animal.
Was just curious what people do with a live wild pig after they tied it up.

Here is what people do with the hogs they trap or catch live in my area (Louisiana). They either take them back to their farms where they raise and sell hogs and add them to their hog population, or take them home, pen them up, castrate the boars and fatten them up and make a meat hog out of them. Due to the odor and taste of a boar hog he cannot be eaten until he has been castrated.
The sows are edible already and are usually fed a diet of corn for a few weeks prior to killing.A hog represents profit to the people that raise them. And a source of food for anyone that likes pork. And while I don't feel this way, more people would prefer pork then they would prefer venison.
Other then raising them or eating them, there isn't much else that you can do with them.

shall we face it, lifestyles is merciless. Hogs consume wild turkey eggs, infant fawns at birthing time, and and so on. i could say those issues are merciless too, yet nonetheless residing isn't for the squemish. i've got study that a wolf can run something like 12 miles at a lifeless sprint. Thats because of the fact wolves chase issues to kill them. Wolves go with to consume too. somebody who thinks those issues are merciless are relatively out of touch with what they're. Predators who additionally ensue to get excitement from doing what keeps us alive. I choose i grow to be Hog searching precise now. I intend on going to Missouri next weekend to do precisely that, No dogs although regrettably. stable success, stable searching.

I just watched that too haha. The show is democratic, so they hardly show them killing them. I'd say just leave 'em out to rot instead of trying to feed people disease infested animals. I got worried when the great dane Riddick got his stomach cut. Not only for the fact that the hog he had was effin' huge, because we have a little great dane puppy.
