LOL, no.
Television watching has gone up as violence has gone down. There's not even a correlation, buddy.

No, humans have always been violent especially toward each other. Television has only been around for 60-70 years. Violence had been around since the dawn of time. People chose to perpetrate violence, and there is always a choice. Always.

No, I don't think it is the leading cause, but it can't be entirely let off the hook either. Take for instance the whole angry, white suburbia, "gangsta" persona that has in the past led to shootings. This doesn't exist without television's influence because none of these middle-class kids ever gets anywhere near the raw, inner-city gang life or its participants. They derive their ideas from MTV and popular films. It also too is an influence on young blacks, many of whom actually are exposed to ghettoish conditions. To say that the glorification of the gang life in hip hop is entirely innocent and harmless is to not have ears to hear or eyes to see.
That's one example of a few we could examine. But tjhat said, the cure for TV violence is found in the on/off switch. Either don't watch or don't let your children watch.

T.V most certainty does not help in the modern society. But as said above, humans are animals, we will always be violent, to protect our siblings, our land, and for power. You see Humans are tribal. We have that Natural instint in us. We reached the top of the food chain long time ago. These instints will never leave us, It's just laws, that now controls us. If we had no laws, what you think we happen? back to the tribal age.

No. Violence existed before television. We, like all other animals, have a killer instinct. Just because modern society tries to make you think that violence is bad, doesn't mean it is. All of us have wanted to harm others, some just decide to act on that feeling.

I don't particularly agree. I think it's a violent society anyway. TV might re-enforce violent tendencies, give people new ideas but I bet they would be violent anyway.

Totally disagree, we all have choices, we all know the difference between right and wrong, and you cannot blame tv for peoples' actions, in my humble opinion that is a big cop out.
