Cat cut paw...what to do?

Hi :)

My cat cut its paw somewhere...it appears to be the skin on the top/side of paw that is sliced...you can see some flesh....she still walks properly and the cut isnt bleeding anymore....what should i put on it?...rubbing alcohol?...should i wrap it with something?...or should i take her to the vet?...my mum doesnt want to take her to the vet because she says it will cost alot...is that true?...i live in brisbane

    I would just spray liquid bactine on it. Its for humans. Your cat will be fine w/o a vet I assure you. Just spray this so it dont get infected. I spray it on my cats open sores from her scratching herself half to death and it seems to soothe and keep down irritatation. Trust me on this.

    Try and clean it out with warm water and soap, hold her for as long as she will allow, to let the blood clot a little on the wound, and then when her patience span is up your going to have to let her down. Our cat cut her paw the other night... blood everywhere... thats all we did, and she's fine now. :) Just don't let her outside until the bleeding stops because she could get an infection in the open wound

    I would just leave it alone since she is still walking properly. Doing anything with it will just bring her attention to it and she will probably start licking or chewing it making it much worse. If you put something on it that stings her or just bothers her in some way she won't leave it alone and can chew it open while you are sleeping.

    yea it does...but shes/hes ur companion...would u rather lose her to infection or be in your life forever
