What is this cardio machine?

They had it at my old club, but I haven't seen one like it at the new club I'm now going to. I'm not sure what it was called, so maybe you can help me out.

It was big, tall. You step onto large "pedals" that are held over around a foot over the ground. You can march in place, or jog, or do a full out sprint. It had a built in heart rate monitor. I loved it because I could get my heart rate pumping LONG before my legs even felt it. It took a lot of the strain off of my legs and knees.

Any ideas?

Update:

Huh, this club has elliptical machines but they only go one way, forward jog. They don't let me march in place, bummer.

Elliptical machine, commonly known as a cross-trainer.

It sounds like you're descrbing an elliptical machine. I'm a big fan of those, too, because I have bad knees.
