Would combining arab nations be a new global power?

Absolutely, Arabs worldwide seem to be a global power all their own, if they were united under a system of government it would be a terror for the U.S. and Western nations.

Maybe. But Arabic nations are really weak economically, except for few exceptions. This is all thanks to their dictators in the lead. If they were to get rid of them, they still would have a long way to go before recovering economically and politically. I think if they break from dictatorship, their countries will go into even biggest chaos, because they are not quite ready for democracy. They would also be really dependent on help of other more wealthy nations and if it would be apparent that they could become a threat, I think UN would apply trade embargo on the nations in question. Then their options would be severely limited. And of course if it would come down to this, it would really upset the whole world balance and possibly could lead to big war. But this is all big if, most likely arabic nation won't be able to unite under one banner. All we can do is wait and see.

Maybe, if they could unite. Trying to get them to unite would be like herding wild tom cats into a cage.
