My computer freezes after a few minutes.?
I just got this PC as a trade and after a few minutes of running, the longest time being a couple of hours, it freezes. No blue screen, no error message, nothing. I found out that the graphics card was the culprit, or so I thougt, because it was not secured so I secured it and still it wants to freeze up on me if I do something processor intensive. I know the fans are clean cause I cleaned them with a shop vac today. I am at my wits end, what do I do?

You might have too much stuff on your hard drive. If you dol it can cause the freezes. Try backing up some of your files, then delete them on your hard drive and see if that makes a difference. There are also free programs like Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy that can find and get rid of a lot of garbage. Also, doing a disk defragmentation might help. Hope this helps.

start it in safe mode, to find that out just google the make and model of the comp. if you start it in safe mode and it still does that it might have a short in the motherboard, you can find a cheap one at frys electronics. if it doesn't shut down then its a program that is hindering. or you might just need some more ram if your ram is maxed out then that might be the issue. good luck

If it is not an onboard graphic card replace it. If it is attached to the motherboard you will need to replace the whole mother...board.
