How much of their income are liberals willing to give to the government?

Apparently liberals are all for tax hikes, I wonder how much they are willing to give. And do they really think politicians can be trusted with it? Politicians a corrupt, on both sides. Give one side too much power and they will be even more corrupt. What makes them think that giving them more money and more power will solve anything and still be able to keep their freedoms.

Liberals get all of their income from the government and they need jobs for their childrens so they need to grow a bigger government, and to do that they need to increase taxes, but they're not worried about increased taxes because they know they will get a cost of living raise to make up for it.

Conservatives want to privatize more so they can give government contracts to their friends. In both cases taxes go up and spending goes up even more thus government debt gets out of control and the only people getting richer are the people who are rich enough to pull the strings of the puppets in office. Anybody could see it if they'd try. The liberal versus conservative or Dem v. Rep is all a distraction from what is really going on. No average person has a say in this government. Only puppets get elected and they represent their own interest first. From the days the Constitution was being drawn up, the rich have been in control, and they are the super rich today, controlling even the rich. Why do you think there is one National Bank which is privately owned? Where do you think the value of money comes from? The value of money comes from the governments promise that you will pay your taxes. New money is created based on that promise and the Reserve loans this money to the National Bank, which is privately owned, and the private owner makes lots of profit from loaning this money to all the other banks who then loan it to you. Now you pay the interest on the loan and you pay the taxes. You, the average earner/borrower are working twice as hard to make the bank owners rich. And the bank owners control the government. You are merely appeased enough to believe you have a say. The enemy is not libs nor cons nor Reps nor Dems. The cake is a lie.

So by your logic, we should let the private sector do everything because the gov't can't be trusted. Well, I trust the private sector to do the right thing less than I trust the gov't. ALL other developed countries have some form of health care for their people. Why is it that we can't seem to get there? Why are my health care dollars paying for HUGE salaries for insurance execs? The private sector is just as if not more corrupt than the gov't and they don't have anyone looking over their shoulders, either.

You do know there are different economic theories, right? The one pushed most often by the right is trickle-down economics, which takes from the middle class to give to the rich. Trickle-down economics has never worked and will never work. Even daddy Bush called it “voodoo economics.”

Democrats, on the other hand, generally believe in buttressing the middle class because that is the engine that drives our society. And BTW, the rich do not put their money back into the market--they often stash it in off-shore or Swiss bank accounts. The middle class, on the other hand, always spends their money, which pumps up the economy.

Both parties redistribute wealth. The Repubs take from the middle class and give to the wealthy (as Bush did for eight years, with the results we are seeing now) and the Dems take from the very wealthy and give to the middle class. I guess you have to decide which one of those theories works best for you.

If by "our income" you mean the GDP, let's take the same %age as the average

developed nation takes- and put it toward entitlements.

In that way spending power rises above 1973 levels for the first time EVER.

As much as it takes to fund the progressive porkulus bills so that we can throw hundres of thousands of dollars to non-existent state districts.

Gotta love the gub'mint! In my opinion most of those morons on cap hill should take a 50% pay cut for failing to do anything beneficial for our economy.

Liberals are prepared to pay their fair share to make this a decent society ... no 'creative' accounting allowed ... !

BTW ... if you don't have politicians who is going to run the country ... Rupert Murdoch ... Rush Limbaugh ... ?

    Jason K,

You know there is no law which says you can't send that 25-50% in even if you don't owe that much right?

Libs take from others not from themselves.

Depends on how much I'm making.

    If I'm making less than $100,000 annually...maybe 20-25%.

If I had as much money as Mark Zuckerberg...50%+, easily. I'd still be a multi-billionaire even with half of my income being with-held for taxes, nobody really needs that much money.

American socialists, being called liberals, are interested in giving money to the government, just not theirs but that of the rich, whom they refer to as "cons".

    Yes, liberals love tax hikes.

That's why Obama spent one third of the stimulus giving everyone a tax cut.

    Oh wait....

Come back when you have a new argument that hasn't been used by conservatives for 30 years without merit.
