it is called plan B.

it prevents the egg to attach (thinning the lining of the uterine wall) , it also helps a womans mucous thicker so the sperm cannot "swim" (makes it harder for them to move around)

its helpful but should NOT be taken as birth control (every time unprotected sex happens).. their are methods out there that can be taken daily,weekly,monthly..year.etc.

as the other's posted, condoms protect against not only pregnancy, but sti's/std's and HIV/AIDS.

Plan B is it's name. It only works if you have not YET gotten pregnant. Sperm can fertilize an egg before you get the pill. It is not an abortion pill. Next time, wear a condom, or use birth control. Plan B, is also quite expensive. It only works in a 72 hour period. It's all just risky no matter what you do.

Protect yourself BEFORE sex. Emergency contraception cannot preven the spread of HIV or STIs. But in the case of contraception failure you can take emergency contraception which prevents a fertilised egg from implanting. Available either at your doctor's or pharmacy (depending on where you live)- research it for your area. But be smart- always wear a condom.

you can go to your nearest pharmacy to get the morning after pill to prevent pregnancy. If you do not want a baby you should protect yourself use a condom
