What should I do for my sinus infection?

Wednesday, I started to feel exhausted and sick so I went to lay down. I ended up having a fever of 102 Thursday morning, and I stayed home. I had muscle aches, dizziness, chills and hot flashes, and a fluctuating fever until Friday evening when my fever broke (it actually went to 96 for a while). That's when my nose started to become congested. My nostrils were clear, but I could feel the mucus in my sinuses, and the mucus dripped down my throat which caused my throat to become really sore. It has progressively become worse, and the taste and smell of the mucus is so horrid. I had no idea what was wrong until I googled and found out that it was most likely a sinus infection.

They say these things last for 3 weeks, and I CANNOT deal with that. It has been driving me insane and I cannot escape the nastiness. I've contemplated wearing a clothespin on my nose so I can't smell and taste anything. Is there anything that can get rid of the taste/smell or shorten the amount of time it lasts? I'm probably going to see my doctor tomorrow or Tuesday. I just want some extra insight.

the doctors is probably the best thing to do, they will most likely give you a steroid shot and a antibiotic shot. Then it should clear up in the next few days :). Drink a lot of water !
