We are also a young married couple. We used birth control pills for the first few years of our marriage. It was good, very little side effects, and was able to avoid pregnancy. I would not recommend Depo (the shot). It is convenient because she doesnt need to take it very often, and it is effective....but, when you are ready to begin your family (if that is your long term plan), the shot has shown to take longer to get out of her system than traditional birth control pills.
