Liberals, are you okay with GE paying no taxes?

GE didn't pay one dime in taxes last year, yet liberals keep saying that the rich don't pay enough. I guess that only applies to the businesses that aren't in the pockets of the democrats. Also, were all you liberals aware that GE is the company who is first in line to build Obama's high speed rails? It reminds me of BP who rarely contributed any money to politicians until they gave almost a million to Obama in exchange for lax safety regulations. That really worked out well. Of course, it is only republicans that are in bed with big oil.

Update:

sarrafze - Nobody said anything about Bush. But since you brought it up, the GOP is probusiness and isn't crying about the rich paying more taxes. But I see you are still stuck in the past like most liberals and can't help yourselves when bringing up Bush for everything that Obama does wrong. And what you are saying is that it's fine that GE pays 0 in taxes because they are in Obama's pocket. I just wanted to know and you explained perfectly.

Scorpion - I know that lower corp. taxes = growth. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy by those on the left.

No. Not okay with any corporation effectively paying no taxes, not just GE. If corporations are people, let them pay taxes like the rest of us. You are wrong about only Republicans being in bed with big oil too.

The lax safety regulations were a hold over from before Obama took office. They were the same regulations from right after the EXXON Valdez episode.

No, we are not okay with GE not paying taxes.

We're not okay with President Obama giving in to the Republican protection racket-like scheme of holding unemployment insurance hostage to giving tax breaks to the rich.

We aren't okay when the banks did their extortion scheme with President Bush in office.

We aren't okay about the billions that disappeared into Iraq.

We're also not okay with BP largely getting off the hook.

However, neocons, Tea Partiers, and other conservatives seem to be okay with letting corporations run wild. The only time you complain is to attack President Obama for doing what you would do.

By the way, the safety regulations were lax BEFORE President Obama took office.

Conservatives are always the ones who want to relax regulations, and complain like crazy when Liberals want to strengthen them.

Yes, Liberals want strong regulations, which are laws.

Imagine, making businesses have to follow laws! Who do Liberals think they are!!!

Liberals are also not happy with most Democratic politicians, because they act too much like Conservative politicians.

Some of those politicians in the Democratic party actually are Conservatives who got in by claiming to be Liberal.

You Conservatives are criticizing President Obama for acting TOO MUCH LIKE YOU.

So who are the hypocrites now?

No, I'm not. I wish we would fix the corporate tax code. What is the GOP-controlled House waiting on? More debate on light bulb regulations and bringing plastic utensils back to the Capital cafeteria?

big corporations follow the same tax code of all business. most all receive write offs and deducts for expansion, expenses, and cost of doing business. if they paid higher taxes, the cost of doing business would rise and you would pay more for the product. big business employs millions of workers and that is essential to growth.

GE is also the company responsible for the near meltdown in Japan. It is their company that helped build the reactors and put the safety systems in bass-ackwards/
