Is St.John's better or UMass?

I'm choosing between attending St. John's Peter Tobin College or UMass Boston as a first year college student. Academically speaking, which of these schools is more respected? I plan on transferring after a year of enrollment anyways, so it might not be important.

    Both schools offer excellent education with great reputations. That would be a tough choice to make. Personally, I prefer Boston. (But that is purely personal and based on the city, not the school.)
