For religious folks: whom as or how would you describe the AntiChrist?

Update:

Thanks for the answers - some pretty goofy ideas abound, but that is something for another day. I needed some broad positions for some research I am doing (excluding the middle schoolers who post juvenile answers; shouldn't you be at school?)

I would suggest a review of I John 2:18, which tells us that there is no single antichrist, but that many had already come in the time of his writing.

On another note, Chris: why do you always make a point to identify yourself as a Pastor? Have you not read Matthew 23:8-12? Curious.....

God Bless

There is no "the" AntiChrist. An antichrist is simply a person who denies the divinity of Jesus.

This is a result of gross negligence of scripture. The world AntiChrist gets thrown around by people who are really referring to "the Beast" in Revelation, which again, is also grossly misunderstood by people who read no other scripture but try to sensationalize what is obviously an allegory.

Antichrist would include those who are “false Christs” and “false prophets,” as well as those who perform powerful works in Jesus’ name and yet are classed by him as “workers of lawlessness.”—Mt 24:24; 7:15, 22, 23.

first of all anti"christ" is anything against Jesus or christianity. UNLESS Sound doctrine is used.

2nd most muslims and jews fall under this broad sTereotype.

another type of interpretation defines an antichrist as a false prophet or one who takes the place of jesus. as in the office of the POPE.

literally, the antichrist will sit on the throne of God and declare himself to be "god".

"The antichrist" denotes a particular person at a particular time in a particular place. "An antichrist" denotes all evil powers and principalites that claim to be gods.
