a game that's for free but questioning legality?

ok I love the game mortal kombat project athology. But someone told me that as long as it is not from midway, than it's ok to download. I noticed that there were some music from the game that had the name 'midway' on them. I tried downloading it from a website but the quality is poor. I remember downloading it from a torrent by using a peer-to-peer program. I would like to know if it is ok for me to use a peer-to-peer program to dowload this game

Another case of the "someone" who told you something, not knowing anything about what he was saying.

You're just downloading different pirated versions of a game which someone else owns.

Probably not. Most media is copyrighted and its illegal to infringe copyright. Although people may argue about peer-to-peer and argue wether it effects the industry, the bottom line is it is illegal and you probably shouldnt do it.
