Are these computer specs good for gaming?

I recently purchased a computer for work and entertainment, but I didn't really put too much thought into its gaming capabilities. It hasn't arrived yet, so I haven't tested it out. How does this sound for gaming?

Asus Desktop

Intel Core i7-740QM (1.73Ghz); 8GB DDR3 RAM; NVidia NV GTX 460M 3D Graphics with 1.5GB VRAM

23.6" Multi-Touch Touchscreen 3D Display with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution; ATSC Digital TV Tuner

1TB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM); Blu-Ray Combo Drive; Gigabit LAN; 802.11 b/g/n; Bluetooth 3.0

Update:

I don't play Crisis Core or anything too serious. More like WoW and Sims type games (yeah, I just admitted that).

Update 2:

The RAM is 8GB, I think what you're looking at is the VRAM, which is 1.5GB

I would say that you got the coolest piece. I'm having HP Pavillion Entertainment Laptop i7/4GB/nVidia 1GB/500GB/15" and mine works so fast without any loading delays in almost all games. Hence, yours ought to be a Ferrari.

    Enjoy .....

Looks like a nice gaming rig :) But it depends on how much of a demanding gamer you are, and what games you're gonna play. I have a computer with specs below this, and it runs WoW and the Sims (yeah, I admitted it too) great!

Also: it's an Asus brand computer, which contributes to the quality overall.

I'd give this computer a 10/10 if you're playing WoW and the Sims. For games to come, this computer gets a fair score too for it's well prepared for them (for now) :)

meh. Fine for paintings, ok for video games. Great cpu, however video games would possibly not use its complete competencies. It is not going (forseeable) long run video games will both. If by means of paintings you imply phrase processing and conversation, it's a long way past your demands. If you imply enormous complicated unfold sheets, cad, and so on, then it's first-class. For those matters the reminiscence will serve you good additionally (sluggish however plenty of it) For video games it's extra reminiscence then you are going to ever use and sluggish. Good great GPU so we can play many video games good and historical video games nice, however won't play new video games nice and is not going to play long run video games good. It is a well forged (if overpriced) laptop so we can do each the matters you desire good, however isn't optimized for both.

Will run fine the 460M should handle lot of games even Crisis will run as long as you don't drive it up at 1920x1080.

look good for what you want to do with it

it will cope with the more demanding games too but not at max graphics

be aware that this is an all in one computer and you cannot upgrade it so when its outdated you will have to chuck it and get a completely new PC
