Is it a form of theism to think we are the consciousness of the Universe? Even if it is viewed as an accident?

We are a product of the Universe, and it can imagine itself only through the Human mind - supposing no other intelligent life exists - can it be argued that we are the Universe looking at itself?

Just a thought I remember hearing once. I think it was Carl Sagan.

As a creation of a god we are the sentient beings in this microcosm of that which man defines

    as universe.

We are but a few of the many existing creations of an undefined Creator, perhaps called God.

In a metaphysical universe being and knowing presents highly abstract,

and perhaps to a degree, exceeding normal or proper limits for some.

Thus there can be thought, by some, to be a form of theism and yet

challenged by others, but as stated above this is a minuscule part of the Universe.

If we assume this is the total of the Universe, then it could be "argued that we are the Universe looking at itself", but each philosophers view might be myopic and thus the theism

would come into refute and debated. It is our nature to do so.

    Good question!!!!

Imagining that we could be the consciousness of the Universe looks like a pure human trait, namely a form o ego-centrism, IMHO. I doubt that the Universe would ever agree with it.

I firmly believe we are not the only intelligent life in the universe.

sounds a bit like Pantheism (god is the whole)
