If you suddenly have a hermaphrodite for a child?

Inspired by a question over sexual preferences of children; I was wondering how would GWS people deal with having a 3rd sexed kid. Do you treat the child with surgery, despite that the child may not develop femininely, and would grow up outcasted, and maybe resentful for having a choice taken away from them? Do you actually feel establishing a gender is such a must?

i guess i would go with the DNA testing that Laura suggested because as a kid im sure he or she wouldn't want to have to find out that their both genders and then be afriad of chosing the wrong one. plus if you used DNA to see the gender then you, as a parent, wouldnt have to worry about chosing the wrong gender. so yes i would do DNA testing and surgery and of course i would tell them.

Well, DNA testing would indicate what gender the child is, despite ambiguous genitals, and if he or she were leaning more that way than the other, I guess I'd gt them nipped and tucked. I don't know. It's a nightmare scenario that I hope to never face.

There is no such thing as an hermaphrodite today

Children born this way are referred to as *intersexed*

It is advised not to make the child's decision for him/her until they are old enough to decide their gender and sex identity for themselves

Alex, what will you do if the earth opens up and swallows your house? You dont know do you? Because you will deal with that IF it happens.

You see, its highly unlikely so why bother worrying over it. If it happens, you'll deal with it right? So will I if I have a hermaphrodite kid.

No surgery, I would allow the child to grow to be an adult and let him/her decide for him/herself.

To be honest, I would be really scared. I would get her therapy and make sure she's a girl.
