little black beetles in my garden?

I have recently moved house and found little "anthills" in my block paving in the front garden. On closer inspection I noticed little black beetles, about the size of ladybirds, scuttling in and out of the mounds of earth.

Are they friends of the garden or should I be trying to eradicate them? I have lots of mature plants in the garden (the previous owner was a keen gardener) and would like to keep it looking nice if possible.

There are so many different species of little black beetles, and some can be Friend or Foe. You should check out the web site below and see if you can find it on that site, Or you can bring it to a local 4-H center or a Garden Extension of Master Gardeners in your area.

they seem to be a sort of slug and that they are greater beneficial than satisfied to consume the slug bait pellets that the ironmongery shop sells. it is sturdy for the reason which you're putting poison on the floor close to your vegetation fairly than certainly on the vegetation. those men are incredibly consumer-friendly to get rid of, fortunately.

Take a few to a local nursery and have them ID them.
