Global warming solutions?
I am writing a problem/solution essay on global warming for my English class. I have pretty much everything figured out, except for the part where I compare MY solutions to OTHER solutions and explain why my solutions are superior.
I divided my solutions into two parts: what the government can do, and what the people can do. The solutions I propose for the government are cap-and-trade (and similar legislation), studying/investing in renewable energy sources, and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. The solutions I propose for individuals are the three R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle), transportation (public transportation, hybrid cars, etc), and creating energy-efficient homes.
One of my ideas for an “inferior” solution is to state that, while the use of alternative energy resources is important in combating the effects of global warming, the risks/consequences/costs of some proposed resources outweigh the benefits (eg nuclear energy). I was also thinking about including CCS (aka carbon sequestration aka clean coal).
What do you think?
Thanks for your help :)

The "Iron Hypothesis" is a method of increasing marine bioproductivity and sequestering carbon. It has been tested a dozen times and companies are already lined up to fertilize the ocean and sell carbon credits. If we need to remove CO2 from the air, there is a tested solution.
Please don't confuse CO2 with pollution. It is not...CO2 is actually nutrition for plants and Earth is dominated by plants. The rise of CO2 is actually fertilizing the planet.
Greenhouse gases are necessary for life on Earth. 100 million years ago, there was ten times the amount of CO2 as today. Neither the Earth or its mammals perished in a ball of flame. Did you know we are due to go back into an ice age according to the O-18 record?
If you'd like to criticize CO2, try this angle: the rise of CO2 means the decline of atmospheric oxygen. C + O2 = CO2.
One more thing, the gas most responsible for the greenhouse effect is H2O. Water vapor accounts for 50-60% of the GE. CO2 accounts for 25%.

Look while those solutions would help a little there is now way to prevent the natural warming and cooling processes on the earth. Did you know that there have been 5 different heating and cooling processes in the last 415,00 years and that global climat charts show that while in the last few year there have been global temp increases we are in a period of cool down. so you can't prevent global warming and cool but you can affect the speed at which it happens.

I've lived in lots of countries (including the US) and I've reached the conclusion that I'd rather live in a tax haven than a democracy. I know the virtues of democracy are really indoctronated in Americans from a young age - but would you miss it if it wasn't there? (edit) Just being honest Bob. I honestly prefer not paying taxes to voting once every couple of years. It really was a retorical question as from what I know American culture and your education system, the value of democracy is really hammered home from an early age and is an object of national pride. As an outside observer, all this national pride in democracy seems, well maybe a little bit hyped. Not withstanding that your country seems to be run by campaign contributors, only 1/6th of Americans take the trouble to vote, which is pretty small on a world wide scale, Voting is compulsory in some countries. In the US the two party system is entrenched and there is no point voting for a minority candidate. All those people who voted for Ross Perot for example might as well have stayed in bed, because it just doesn't matter whether they prefered Democrat or Republican. In other countries, if your 1'st choice doesn't get in, your 2nd choice counts as a full vote. Which leads me to a question I sometimes wonder, If democracy is so important, why don't you improve it? It is important isn't it? Would you miss it?

You are wrong about the "risks/consequences/costs" of nuclear power. For every nuclear power plant which is not built because of wind and solar power, there is a coal fired power plant which could have been shut down if we had wind and solar power and the nuclear power plant.
Another thing to consider is that the electric car is seen as the solution to global warming by many people. However, the electric car is no cleaner that the power source used to produce the power. In addition, with such solutions as nuclear power, the electrical industry could be completely carbon free in a few decades, without any taxes or significant lifestyle sacrifices.

These ideas your posting are great - a couple big contributing factors are plowing down rainforests to create cattle farms. The importance ecologically of the rainforests as an umbrella and converter of carbon stuff in air, providing cooler area.
As unseemly as this is, the methane gas produced by animals on the range, in the field, from the "passing of gas" is a big source of global warming, since this industry, as well, is growing around the world. There are other significant sourse of Methane gas release but I am not as educated on them. So, in my case, due to the influence of my daughter's becoming vegetarian, I have done so. As a vegetarian, amazingly, the food is in now way inferior. I don't miss the meat products and use more spices and less cooking times. The energy/food production ratio is much less energy-intense while living as a vegetarian, and shopping locally when available choice.

How about verifying first if man made global warming is real.Check out who are benefiting financially from trading carbon offset credits. Why China and India are not going along with this agenda. Finally, you are aware of course that they don't call it global warming anymore. It's climate change, as a CYA for the cooling trend that is now happening.Go ahead. The internet is your friend.

A lot of interested traders are asking themselves the question if you can really make money with binary options? The answer is that you can indeed make money in binary options trading. Learn here https://tr.im/BinaryOptionsStrategies
Obviously this is a perfectly legitimate question considering that most people have not traded binary options in the past and generally believe that investing is a very difficult activity.
However, you will have to put an effort into it. You will have to learn money management, reading of charts as well as the usage of indicators.
