What's the process of attaining an RN license if I already have a Bachelor's degree?

My Bachelor's degree is in Business Marketing, and I've recently decided I'd like to go into nursing instead. How do I go about it? Will it only take two years to attain since I already have a Bachelor's degree? How is this previous coursework applied, or is it? Thanks so much in advance, so far the school is sending me in circles.

You need to find an Accelerated BSN program. Each school is different as to what their requirements are. Go in and speak with an advisor, bringing your college transcripts with you. They should be able to determine what courses you'll need to take to earn the BSN.

Well, it'll probably take two to three years depending on how the stuff works into it. If you have the pre-reqs done for a bachelor's of nursing, then you would need the core classes and those are sequential. However, you;ll also need anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and so on. Some bridge programs will only give an associate's degree.

A BS will have more science courses that may transfer into it.

Since you already have bachelor's degree, you will not have to take such courses as English, History, etc etc,

All you would have to do is take the required nursing courses , which you have not already taken.

A friend of my daughter, graduated with a BA, then decided she wanted to go into nursing. She applied to a college which had a nursing program, and they tailored a 2 year program for her, which, ultimately led to a degree in nursing.

Previous coursework done in the last five years that is relevant to the program is usually accepted. Every school has it's own standard though. I knew someone who did this and was able to transfer a lot of coursework to graduate earlier in Michigan.
