Do You Believe May 21,2011?
I am a Christian and I am 15.However,this whole May 21,2011 thing scares me and it's supposed to be next month.Fellow Christians,do you believe this?
I always thought that no man knew the time or the hour that Jesus will come back. And although the time is getting closer,I personally don't believe it will be May 21,no more than I believe it will be December 21,2012.Think about it,when it's May 21 in the US,it's already May 22 in Australia and still May 20 in other countries. Also,Harold Camping, the man that predicted this, also predicted the Rapture in 1994 and of course,it didn't come.So he was wrong once so I thought that makes him a false prophet. But I still doubt my beliefs and I want to know other Christians' opinions.Thank you in advance.

Deuteronomy 18:20, "But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die."
Deut. 18:22, "When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him."
Matthew 24:36, "But concerning that day and hour (Jesus is speaking of the end of the world) no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only."
So given that he has already been wrong once Camping has proven himself a false prophet and as Deut. 18:22 says, you have nothing to worry about. In fact if this were Old Testament times, Camping would only be allowed to be wrong once (see the first quoted verse 18:20). In Matthew 24:36, Jesus plainly tells us that only God knows the day and hour of the end. There is nothing in the Bible that suggests God will reveal when the end will come to any human being. Those Christians who believe Revelation is about the end of the world acknowledge that it doesn't tell us WHEN it will occur only that it WILL occur at some point.
Harold Camping is a heretic and a false prophet because the Word of God says he is.

I am an atheist, but, as you say, "Also,Harold Camping, the man that predicted this, also predicted the Rapture in 1994 and of course,it didn't come.So he was wrong once so I thought that makes him a false prophet."
And the Bible agrees with you.
"If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him."

I agree. No man knows the time or hour of Jesus' Rapture. I think its just something someone made up to scare people or to get attention. In all truthfulness, there is no way someone can calculate or figure out when the Rapture is going to happen. God hasn't given us signs or evidence pointing to a certain day. Just like in December next year, I'll be laughing May 22nd while some just sit back and wonder why nothing happened.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:36,
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
Only God knows when the Christ will return because God is the only one who can send him. No man can predict it. It is God's choice alone. We were told of the things that would happen so that we would know it is getting closer but never told the exact time. Anyone who claims to know the day is false.
I know this, God will not allow the world to end on a day that we are all ready to go because doing so would make Jesus a liar and Jesus did not lie.

Hello! I am also a 15 year old Christian and I don't believe it. Nobody knows when he will come back, so nobody can predict it.
And if you're scared and everything, then just take a deep breath, close your eyes, and recognize that no matter what happens to you and your family, as long as you follow the Lord, he will care for you as if you were his own, because you are.
Don't have fear. Even if something does happen, worrying won't change it. Just wait, be patient, and don't worry. Put it in God's loving, caring hands.

That it's going to be a day, yes. That it's going to be the doomsday, absolutely not. There have been countless predicted doomsdays for dozens of millennia. None of them have come true, and not just the ones the Harold Camping pulled out of his butt. The doomsdays written about in the Bible were all supposed to have happened within the lifetimes of the writers and their immediate audiences. For example, Revelation is about how Nero was supposedly going to come magically back to life (the Nero Redivivus legend) around the end of the first century CE and God was going to magically destroy the Roman Empire and replace it with a Christian Utopia. It didn't happen.
There are plenty of real life things for you to be concerned about, don't wast your time with magical doomsday fantasies.

If you believe the Bible, there are some prerequisites to that happening. Those things will not happen unless the people with psychotic death wishes have their way. A kind word of advice: Never believe everything you hear. If you do, you will be scammed again and again in your life. Try to develop a healthy amount of skepticism and you'll be far better off than being at the mercy of those who would love to fool you into believing what they say.

Yes, I believe that's the day that comes after May 20, 2011 and before May 22, 2011, and that it will be a Saturday.

Ok you say you A Christian....so are you calling both God and Jesus lie's they both said in there book
NO MAN will know the date...and here you are proclaiming the date of the end of the world...it all truth Jesus said in the new testament during one of his sermons that there were people there that would see the end before there life was over..and we can tell that didn't happen. So who know who cares. It ends when it ends. When in doubt refer to first statement no man will know..as the words of your god.
