Can't remember any specific episodes, but:

1) Light - Death Note (I would say L, but for some reason this was much sadder for me)

2) Itachi - Naruto Shippuden

3) Maes Hughes - FMA Brotherhood

From the animes I've seen, I would probably say:

- Ushio Okazaki (Clannad)

- The original Yumi (Chobits)

- Kamina (Gurren Lagann)

For some reason, even though Yumi was a minor character who only appeared in a flashback, due to the way it was set up and presented it came across as really emotional. Note that I'm not counting events in animes which serve the purpose of death, but aren't really (for instance, Saber disappearing in Fate/Stay Night). I also don't recall specific episodes for these, save Ushio's death which is episode 21 of After Story. The others can be looked up easily enough.

well I am reading my very first manga :D and it's fruits basket. When I read how tooru's dad died I was crying. I still am *tear tear* anyways that's my saddest (well I think I cry to much becasue I cry with all books I read... Hunger Games, Were the Red Fern Grows, Marly and Me, Fire,..., and now even fruits basket) I probly cry reading a joke book :( oh well

1. Fuuko's death in Clannad (she was actually the ghost of a girl in a coma... so she basically disappeared... temporarily xD)-I started bawling xD
