It depend on your phone because some are can't and also some able to do. I need software in your computer to connect your phone.

    Such as :

    - iPhone connect with iTunes

    - Nokia phones connect with Ovi or Nokia PC Suites.

At least you should read "User Manual" or company websites.

For connections, there are Bluetooth and USB.

Two things are important first your hand set should be enabled with GPRS or WiFi and the phone should be able to connect to the laptop via USB cable or Bluetooth.

Before looking at anything above first contact your mobile service provider and check if you are able to use such service and What is the charges and then try to see the setting required for your phone and your laptop {depends in the Windows also} then try to Connect the Customer Service agent will Help with the setting .. good luck

It is called tethering, if it is a cell phone.

See if your phone has options for when you plug a USB cable into it. One choice might be "synchronize media", and another might be "USB modem". You'd set it to modem, or possibly "ask when connected".

The you'd need to purchase a block of service from whoever provides your cell phone service. This is usually about $50 per month... on top of what you already pay.

Assuming you mean your phone at home, you'd need to buy a USB 56k modem (20x slower than other connection methods) from Best Buy or Fry's Electronics. Then get a subscription to "NetZero" ($10 per month) or other, so that you'd have someone to call and connect you to the internet.

Easiest way is if you have the Desktop Manager disk that came with your phone installed on your computer, open it and click on IP Modem and just select you service provider, then click connect. Works well for me.

If your phone is android there are "tethering" applications on the market to do this. Most services, like my sprint, offer the wireless hotspot option to turn your phone into a hotspot but its an additional fee/service. But a tethering app will do this for free.

If you have dial-up and a built-in or external modem then connect the jack to the port and you know, run AOL, or go to My network settings (depending on computer)and set it up.

You are talking about tethering. It is possible but some devices and also some carriers block this. Check with your carrier to see if your plan and device allows tethering.
