What do you think I should do with my friend that I want to be more with?

I met my friend at the beginning of this school year and we hit it off well, we are pretty close now. I have hung out with her a couple of times, and I realize we have a LOT in common. Problem is, she has a boyfriend. Problem with that is, he doesn't seem to be doing anything, its just a label on an empty jar. It turns out, she told me that we have hung out more than her boyfriend and her have hung out, keeping in mind they have been going out since January and we didn't hang out until March and it's only been 4 times so far. The reason we met is my friend who I have in all but 1 of my classes. I don't want to ask her out fearing it would not only ruin the friendship between me and her, but possibly between me and our common friend. I also don't want to break her and her current boyfriend up if it is truly making her happy. What do you think I should do, yahoo community?

Call me crazy, but i think you should tell her.. or first find out if she is truly happy with this person, if she replies no, go for it.. tell her how you feel, how long you have felt this way. and what you can do to make her happy... If she replies yes, her boyfriend is making her happy. then do the right thing,, support her with him. they may not even last that long. judging but your statement 'its just a label on an empty jar' then you can be her shoulder to cry on, it may even bring you closer and she may realize that see likes you too... x
