High School election possible Conspiracy?

Good day everyone, I am currently a Junior in High School.I don't want to get into too deep detail. But anyway I am running for Student Government President. I am currently the Vice President. The President, a good friend of mine, might as well be the most famous face in the school. Everybody knows him. Now me, in the Student Government I've become a well liked character (Trying not to sound cocky), I usually make all the speeches in events that require a speech under short notice. He usually hosts the events that are planned by him.

Last year in my elections for Vice President, I ran against the Salutatorian of the class above me and I had scored three times more votes. My honorable opponent, the current President is a year younger than me. And according to the rules he must have been a Senior to run for President, The adviser however bent the rules for him. He was allowed to run for President, nobody had run against him. Nobody had ever run against him starting from elementary school.

The problem is, the adviser seems to really favor the incumbent, despite keeping an unbiased attitude. Here's the thing, this year he decided not to announce the votes. Meaning, he's going to count the votes quietly in the back and read aloud the victors, as opposed to the previous years' reading aloud each vote one by one.

I fear he might alter the results or something. Not that I don't trust him or anything, but something is telling me it just seems a little fishy. Am I worrying too much? If there is a chance what should I do? The elections are this Friday, May 13th. Thank you very much.

Update:

It's over guys, turns out the elections were rigged. Though it was not the teacher. The job of counting the votes was left up to the Treasurer who's been a longtime friend of my Opponent. Despite having some of the worst and un-motivated speeches, My opponent and all of his friends won. Unfortunately, there is a large conspiracy at our school and there is nothing I can do at the moment. But we'll figure something out.

Think about saying something to your friend who's also running like "isn't it weird that the adviser isn't reading the votes off like he normally does?" and see what he says. I'm assuming that you're still friends and this election hasn't/won't hurt that of course. Then maybe both of you could ask the adviser why he's doing it that way, maybe mention how you like the tension and dramatics involved in the reading off of every single ballot or something like that. It's possible the adviser just didn't want to take the time in an assembly to read off every single ballot, in which case you probably can't do much about it.

In short, of course there's a chance, however slim, of conspiracy. It'd be great to assume that everyone is honest, but those things do happen - the president of my junior class won because the teachers changed the results even though a boy beat her. They actually told the guy and the girl that the guy won but they didn't think it was right to have an all guys cabinet so they were going to have the girl, who was the runner-up by a small margin, take the presidency. The guy ended up being the "president's adviser" instead. If you can't do anything about it though, just assume the adviser is honest, no matter who wins. Otherwise your friendship could be wrecked and you could get a reputation as a sore loser, and this isn't worth either.

Use it to your advantage. Create the biggest smear campaign you can and tell them he is fixing the election even if he isn't. Politicians lie to get votes so it is fine to do. Also get on your soap box during recess and hit the campaign trial after school to. To get votes you have got to pull out all the stops.
