What do you think about Obama's "Drill Baby Drill" policy?

Some fine answers already shown. I will add my two cents to the others. Only when good old capitalism completion gets going will the oil situation improve. Where is the competition for the oil coming from? There are no serious contenders at this point. Let it be known to the modern generation that when Henry Ford built his first model T s, he had in mind that it would be fueled by alcohol. Problem is they discovered this gooy, sticky stuff coming out of the ground in Titusville Pennyslvania and didn't know what to do with it. Then someone figured out you could burn it. Alas we have been burning a lot of it ever since. And as a result our national well-being is being put into jeopardy. Get us some good old competition flowing again. Please, USA, conserve a little bit on the use of gasoline.

Obama is the first president to publicly state that he is helpless in the gas prices going up. That's because oil is priced by hidden multinational (MN's) corporations. Not the US or OPEC . In the provincial thinking typical of most Americans, drilling for more oil looks to be the logical manner in which to bring oil prices down.

However, we are in a glut And our refiners are working like crazy. We don't need more oil. We need to take way the power of the multinationals and bring prices back to normal - but that will never happen. The US has worked for years to give power to the MN's and it will be impossible to get it back.

I'm glad to see that the man is doing and not just saying. He said he was going to pass health care and that he was going to kill bin laden, he did both. now he is going to allow more drilling in our waters, I have no reason to not believe he won't do it. It's a bout time an American president started walking the walk.

We need more alternative energy but it will take years to get it. In the meantime we need to reduce the price of gas and reduce its impact on our economy by going ahead with offshore drilling.
