Get some BT at your local garden center and sprinkle it on when the caterpillars come. BT is an environmental product that effects only caterpillars It attacks them from the inside after they eat it. It won't harm the birds even if they eat an infected caterpillar. It won't harm pets, kids wild animals or any people
