Why does my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop turn on by itself?
4 of the past 5 nights I woke up in the morning to see my laptop was running. Theres an HP symbol on the back of the screen thats lit up. I close the laptop every night and it goes into sleep mode. I thought it could be the mouse moving from people walking in the house so I shut it off every night but it still happens...It use to happen occasionally and when I'd open it I'd find that it had restarted overnight...but now its just turning on...any ideas?

"hibernate" or "shut down" your laptop. putting it into sleep or standby mode will allow it turn on on a scheduld task like antivirus scan

You likely have a timed event scheduled. You can set it your computer to allow it to be woken up by a timer. Likely it is in the schedule events or power option on the control panel
