The logs for my netgear router show repeated admin login attempt failures from my roommates computer...she is definitely not trying to hack the network and nothing appears to be running on her laptop. The attempts were coming in at about 3 per second until I downloaded malwarebytes and ran a scan on her computer that found 200 infected items...after they were removed and she restarted her computer I checked the logs and the attempts were still occurring but at exactly 1 per minute to the second. Does anyone know what else I can do to her computer to find what is making this happen?

Checked the logs on my netgear router yesterday and noticed repeated admin login failures from an IP address on the network...Checked the attached devices and it is coming from one of my roommate's computers...checked her computer and didn't notice anything that could be causing this...but as long as she is connected to the network the admin login failures keep occuring every second...had her run a virus scan but she doesn't have a lot of security software...What could be causing this on her computer and what can I do about it?

Just installed Ubuntu on a gateway desktop and I have it hooked up to a 56'' JVC HDTV...the outer edge of the ubuntu desktop is off the screen on all sides...I can still click on everything but can't see everything...if I go to systems and then monitor it only has 2 other resolution options and both of those are worse...any ideas? If adjusting the resolution is easier in 11.04 just tell me and i'll upgrade....thanks

4 of the past 5 nights I woke up in the morning to see my laptop was running. Theres an HP symbol on the back of the screen thats lit up. I close the laptop every night and it goes into sleep mode. I thought it could be the mouse moving from people walking in the house so I shut it off every night but it still happens...It use to happen occasionally and when I'd open it I'd find that it had restarted overnight...but now its just turning on...any ideas?

It's an HP Desktop with 256mb ram currently running Windows XP.

Just looking to mess around with it cause its unused and there is nothing on it.

I can boot into the ubuntu menu and select a language, but after I select Install Ubuntu or Try Ubuntu before installing it just goes to a blank screen with a blinking cursor and doesn't do anything...Whats the problem?

Computer is an older HP Pavilion Desktop currently running Windows XP...

Getting an apartment with 3 other people next semester and I wasn't sure which router to get to make the apartment wireless for the 4 of us...Probably gonna have an Xbox 360 always wired to it and occasionally my laptop with 3 other laptops and a few ipods running wireless off of it...was thinkin netgear but idk which one...apartment is only 1 floor and isn't very big so range shouldn't be a problem especially if the router is in one of the middle bed rooms...

Its an HP Pavilion dv6 and a Philips HDTV...

I have a desktop running windows xp wired to the router with an epson nx300 wired to that. I was wondering how I could set the network up that my laptop running vista and connected to the router over wifi could print with that printer wirelessly?

should i do it??? or look for somethin else...
