Best graphics card for Dell XPS 420?
I have an aging Dell XPS 420 that I want to upgrade in order to continue playing more current on-line games (MMPORPGs).
What is the best graphics card that I can throw into this machine without having to replace the power supply?

The power supply of your PC, 375 Watts, seriously limits graphics card upgrade options. Get a power Supply of 500 Watts.
DO NOT go for cheap Power Supply Units get a good Cooler Master or Corsair PSU. As for the graphics card, get a Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 or an XFX HD 6850 1GB GDDR5, these two can run any of the games on high settings at 720p resolution, the HD 6850 is slightly better then the HD 5770.

The 420 ships stock with a 375 watt power supply.
This is pretty much going to limit you to the low end shop accordingly.
New egg is pretty good about disclosing power requirements on the cards it sells and can be a good point of reference for you in your search.
Examples HD 4350, HD 6450 or Nvidia GeForce GT 520

if you are to the point you are going to put a new video card in, you should probably just think about selling the dell and building a complete white box tower. dell's have a lot of stupid proprietary connectors, and the bios will not let you overclock.
