Is it ok for Braxton Hicks contractions to hurt?

I go to my ob/gyn on Tuesday and I'm gonna ask her, but I just wanted to see what other pregnant women out there have experienced. I have a 19 mo old son and my Braxton Hicks didn't hurt till the very end of my pregnancy. But I'm only 22 weeks and I have 2 to 3 contractions a day. My stomach hardens and it hurts enough that I have to stop whatever I'm doing and wait for it to pass. They only last a few seconds and the pain isn't real bad, just annoying. I know I have to drink plenty water so it's not dehydration.

I heard that they do not hurt. I would go to a doctor immediately just to be safe.

In fact, B&H contractions can and usually do intensify and hurt farther along you get, or hurt more frequent in your 2nd preg and more in the 3rd and so on. My first preg I don't remember them hurting at all but the 2nd preg they were bad and this 3rd preg Im on now its unreal. They sound normal just regular brax hicks and nothing sounds out of the ordinary. Warning, toward the 3rd trimester they will get worse and the pain won't be any better than it is now so what you feel now and worse is what you can expect

If it's not bad and you know to drink water you are fine. Also be sure to be active through the day so all of your muscles get used and you will be less likely to be in pain when they come.

Well for me yes they can hurt sometimes can be mistaken for actual contractions. As long as they are not consistent you are alright. If they are coming in regular intervals then you should go to your Dr or hospital to be checked. Also try changing positions it helps.
