Why are atheists worried about the false rapture date (May 21)?

I'm tired of questions about the Rapture. Did you know Camping thinks we've been in the Great Tribulation for 6 1/2 years?

I'm not worried at all, but I can't wait until Sunday to point out what fools followers of Harold Camping are. If it did happen it would be Heaven on Earth with no Christians here too.

yet i imagine hence, faith isn't arguably the important offender. We are not worried about the ramblings of a delusional old fool or the book of nonsense called the Bible.

I don't know a single atheist who is worried about this, I myself am trying to calm down people who are actually worried about it.

Worried? I love it. A prime example of religious silliness... what's to worry about...

They fear self-fulfilled prophesy. They are afraid of people who believe to the extent that those people will try to fulfill the prophesy if it looks like it won't happen on its own. So, they aren't afraid of it happening on its own but of people trying to make it happen.

I don't really think "worried" is the correct word. I think it is more on the lines of "pointing and laughing".
