Well I guess it depends...

For me, I would only smile when things are going downhill(of course, I would smile too if something is funny). I do it this way because if I don't, there's a great possibility that I'll burst into tears. I feel like it's easier to face things with a smile on your face, so if you balls'd it up people would think you were just being silly.

But in those really frustrating times, when I try to smile all I got was a rather dreadful looking face. During those times I'll just wear a strict-almost-angry looking mask.

Easy short term, but studies on bus drivers and cabbies prove doing this all day will only make your mood worse.

Rather than faking a smile, why not find some a reason to smile for real?? Happy thoughts maybr..??? Dream of the beach, think about the sound of crickets in the summertime, bring a bouquet of fresh flowers to work, think of friends and loved ones...??

It's easy to wear a smile on the outside but never within.

It's hard to put up a true smiling face but easy to put up a fake one.

Amazingly I find it relatively easy, as I can escape myself for a while and disappear into the fantasy happy person I am presenting to the world. Which is a relief.

But the trouble is, It's counter productive if you do it for too long.

I try to put up a smiling face when i hurt, because i am a private type of person, but my friends (and my cat) knows the truth, and how hard it is for me ..

It's easy to smile with the lips alone but it's hard to smile with the "eyes" when someone is not really happy....

sometimes hard sometimes easy. like to take a picture i find it hard. but i see someone around and smile at them when im not really not in the mood to its not the natural smile but still.. it all depends.... '

To fake a smile is more easy than genuine smile because if smile doesnt come from heart you have to just say ----cheese......and smile is there .

Its easy just forget urself and smile for other not for self
